This Privacy Policy explains what information Worken collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Worken is a directory and connection venue; we collect only what we need to help verified pros and customers find and message each other and to display verification status.
Data we collect
We collect the information you provide when you sign up and use Worken. This includes your name or business name, email address, phone number, role, and the services and service-area details (such as your ZIP code and service radius) you add to your profile. It includes profile and portfolio photos, your business logo, job posts, applications, reviews and ratings, and the content of messages you send through the platform. For verification, it includes any documents you choose to upload, such as a government-issued ID and the information shown on it (which may include your date of birth, photo, and ID number), a license, an insurance certificate, or business registration and EIN documents. We also collect basic technical data automatically, such as your device, browser, IP address, and how you use the platform.
How we use it
We use your information to operate the platform: to show your profile and verification status, to power directory search and messaging, to review verification submissions, to send you account and notification email, and to keep the platform safe. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing
Profile and verification-status information you choose to publish is visible to other users and the public, by design. That is how a directory works. Verification documents you upload are private, are stored in a restricted location, and are reviewed only by Worken admins; they are never shown publicly. We share data with the service providers listed below who help us operate the platform, under agreements that limit their use of it, and we disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers we use
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run Worken: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (application hosting), Resend (sending account and notification email), Stripe (processing pro subscription payments; Worken never stores your card number), PostHog (product analytics), and Sentry (error tracking). We also use Cloudflare to protect signup from automated abuse. Each processes data only to provide its service to Worken.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error tracking to understand how the platform is used and to fix problems. These tools may collect usage and device data; we configure them to support the platform, not to sell your data.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the platform, comply with our legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account; some records may be retained where the law requires.
Your privacy rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your information. You can edit your profile and export or delete your account from your dashboard, or contact us at support@workenhq.com for anything you cannot change yourself. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Worken does not sell personal information. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser experience for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact support@workenhq.com; we may need to verify your identity before we act.
Children
Worken is intended for people who are at least 18 years old and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@workenhq.com and we will delete it.
Identity verification and biometrics
When you submit a government-issued ID for verification, a Worken admin reviews it manually. Worken does not use facial recognition, fingerprinting, or other automated biometric identification, and we do not create a biometric template from your ID or photo. If we ever introduce a verification method that processes biometric information, we will update this policy and obtain any consent the law requires before doing so.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, change your language preference, and manage your email-notification setting from your dashboard. You can export your data and delete your account from your dashboard today. The export downloads a JSON file of your information, and deletion removes your profile from the directory. For anything else, including correcting information you cannot edit yourself, contact us and we will help.
